Leo graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. and earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, cum laude, where he received the Bankruptcy Medal of Excellence. After law school, he clerked for the Honorable Margaret A. Mahoney, Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of Alabama. Leo is a certified Business Bankruptcy Specialist by the American Board of Certification and the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. Leo serves as a panel Subchapter V Trustee for Region 5 of the United States Trustee Program.

Leo has more than 25 years of experience in bankruptcy law and business litigation. This experience allows him to represent clients in complex consumer and business bankruptcy issues effectively.
Leo resides in New Orleans with his wife and 2 children. While at U. Penn, he played wide receiver for two undefeated Ivy League championship teams. In his free time, he enjoys tennis, golf and fishing.​
