Ron Kitto’s practice primarily focuses on areas of Admiralty & Maritime Law including matters involving insurance defense and coverage, subrogation, collisions, marine casualties, pollution events, and Jones Act defense. His practice also includes commercial litigation and real estate matters with the majority of his practice devoted to litigation. Ron began his legal career working as a staff attorney for the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans where he worked in conjunction with the general counsel handling employment and real estate matters as well as property damage claims. Ron earned his J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law in 2003 receiving the Joseph M. Rault Award for Excellence in Admiralty and Maritime Law and a Law Excellence Award in Maritime Personal Injury. Before attending college, Ron served in the United States Navy for six years stationed aboard the United States Submarine Von Steuben. He has also been involved in the acquisition, renovation and management of historic properties in New Orleans.
